Rhythm of the wild

Troviscais Portugal Retreat

17.10 - 23.10.2022

24.10 - 30.10.2022

It all comes back to you. As nature blooms – so do you. As the ocean crashes – so do you. As the mountain stands with pride – so do you.

As humans we are not just part of nature: We are nature itself. A loving expression with limbs, torsos, heads and a loving heart. To find connection back to ourselves we must first find the connection back to nature, back to our roots.

Our wilderness Retreat in Portugal invites you to step back into nature’s loving arms. Far away from our beloved Temple in Montenegro, we chose the beautiful and sacred lands of southern Portugal to hold us for a journey towards the wilderness within us. At Pachawa Retreat Center we will spend our days connected to the rhythms of nature. We will start our mornings early with Yoga, and continue our day learning about inspirational topics and skills, have creative afternoons and evenings of connecting with yourself and the community.

Our days will be filled with: Yoga, Self Care Rituals, Creative Expression, Relaxation, Nature & Permaculture, Music, Storytelling and bonfires – and much more.

As nature is blooming, so will you, and we want to show you how to take care of yourself with the help of mother nature. We want to show you how nature expresses itself and gives you the opportunity to express yourself through your own unique ways. Let’s get our hands dirty together and talk about how permaculture can enrich your life and how you can use these tools to craft your own garden (metaphorically and literally speaking). Let’s sing, dance, share, love, cry (if needed) and just be together by our moonlit bonfires and rise together with the sun for our morning yoga practice.

Pachawa Retreat Center and permaculture farm is nestled the wilderness of a national reserve in the magical hills of Portugal’s Atlantic coast. The place invites you to live in harmony with nature and show you what regenerative living can look like. Therefore it does not provide you with luxurious facilities (has compost toilets) but rather gives you an opportunity to experience real ecological living. You have different options of accommodation. From camping to glamping, from eco dorms to Firetrucks, we provide you with a lot of options to serve whatever your needs are. You will be well fed with our daily vegan breakfast, lunch and dinner so the only thing you have to be thinking about is YOU.

The Mahakala collective is a group of people who met each other at Mahakala Retreats in the magical land of Montenegro. The founder of Mahakala Marijana gathered these peculiar characters teaching different disciplines of yoga and self awareness together into a fun & creative group, connected by a common attribute: an open heart.

As the heart is the center of healing, we need to tune inwards to harmonise ourselves with nature and each other. The mission of the Mahakala collective is to spread love and connection in this world we live in. The message is an ode to joy, for being alive and connected with ourselves, mother earth and each other.

The Mahakala collective organises a series of retreats around the world based on the art of presence, healing, arts, education and community spirit. Through these special gatherings we explore various types of movement medicine, mindfulness practices and utilise sound and art in an innovative way to unlock and delve into our creative side so that we can become conscious creators of our own life.

If you still ask yourself: “Is this the right retreat for me?”

Maybe these questions help you to make the decision for yourself:

Do I feel comfortable with the thought of spending the whole day outside?

Can I handle bad weather in case it rains? (Remember there is no bad weather, only bad clothing!)

Am I willing to share my journey with others?

Do I want to join a retreat where I also work with my hands in the soil?

Do I like the thought of being connected to my wild and creative energy?

If you said yes to all these questions: this retreat is made for you!!

If there are some no´s: Maybe we can help you with your questions or maybe our other retreats are more suited for you.

You can travel from Faro or Lisbon by train until the stop „Funcheira“, the nearest train station to Pachawa.

From Funcheira, you can catch our shuttle service which will take you directly to Pachawa.

“Knowing that you love the earth changes you, activates you to defend and protect and celebrate. But when you feel that the earth loves you in return, that feeling transforms the relationship from a one-way street into a sacred bond.”
